Yukon, NWT & Alaska Trip 2005  (Page 3)

 

July 31, 2005. We crossed the continental divide ...

...10 times on this trip.

Stopped along Cassiar Hwy, BC.

Cassiar Hwy (also called Hwy 37) runs from Watson Lake, YT to Kitwanga, BC.

Camping at the Meziadin Lake.

August 01, 2005. Heading east on Hwy. 16 ....

...from Kitwanga to Prince George. And...

...stopped in Moricetown to watch...

...local natives catch Salmon...

...from the Skeena River.

Salmon Ladders...

...which allow Salmons to swim upstream...

...of the river to lay their eggs.

The natives were tied to the mainland.

Every 10 minutes approx. 10 Salmons were caught.
